Oh, this is all happening so fast!
So then, it is 7 weeks until I depart for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and am I anywhere close to being ready? Well no, not really!
Despite saying when i last wrote, that i would have my travel insurance sorted out, it is still not done, for one reason or another i seem to be dragging my feet on this, rather important issue. So it is priority number 1 to be done this month! I'm still saving as much as i can, which I'm sorry to say is not much, probably no where near enough for a month long trip, but i still have 2 pay days before I fly out, so one final saving effort and I'm sure it will all be fine.
This month not only marks the start of the major countdown to the trip but also my birthday, turning 26 gives you a chance to reflect on things, in “not quite a midlife crisis, but nearly” kind of way. What i take away from this self reflection is that in 26 years I’ve achieved some fairly good things, done some bad things (who hasn’t) and been mediocre the rest of the time. so what I'm thinking is that this trip can maybe be the start of a new chapter, a new me. one who is willing to take more risks and try more things, as someone once said “the greater the risk, the greater the reward” well it sounds like someone should have said it.
Back on topic. The Rugby bug is really starting to kick in and i can’t wait to get over to New Zealand and sample the culture and the amazing atmosphere.
As i have said before i will be following Scotland for the month of September, and even if they make it to the quarter finals, sadly i won’t. My flight back to “sunny” Scotland is on October 3rd.
